Additional artists have been added to the Country Night Lights lineup! This second annual showcase of some of the hottest names in country music includes Frankie Ballard and Brothers Osborne, in addition to previously announced headliners. Here’s a quick rundown of all the artists with an all-inclusive official playlist to come!

Jake Owen

Of all the stars on the list, Owen has been in the spotlight the longest. He debuted his first album back in 2006 and has a steady stream of hits since. He tends to bounce around from sound to sound and try new things. One of his earlier, guitar heavy singles “8 Second Ride,” for example, is a complete 180 from his more laid back beach track aptly titled “Beachin.”

Apparently he even changes his style up in the middle of producing. He has released two singles with different traits since his last album. The first, “Real Life,” is very much the 21st Century country hit, while “American Country Love Song” is reminiscent of his previous work, a trend he said will stay.

After trying out something different, the singer ultimately decided to do the whole “back to his roots” kind of thing, so it’s safe bet he’ll be climbing the charts again when his album is released in July (just in time for a live performance at #CNL2016 in September).

Brett Eldredge

Eldredge went a different route, starting his career as a songwriter before blowing up to a full-fledged entertainer. He’s made a name with love song after love song like “Don’t Ya” and “Beat of the Music,” both of which reached No. 1 on the US Country Airplay charts.

The country crooner has recently released another charming single, “Drunk On Your Love,” a smooth romantic number he can add to his arsenal of date night done right anthems. It’s really no wonder he’s been called the Frank Sinatra of country music, although he speaks humbly about the comparison.

Brothers Osborne

Brothers Osborne has quickly catapulted into the genre with single after single of solid hits like “Say a Little Longer” and “.” The two brothers, TJ and John, have stood out from the crowd with a full range of elements that jump from classic country twang to arena rocking guitar riffs.

The brothers grew up in Deale, Maryland, a small fishing town where their family would host evening jam sessions. There they found TJ was a naturally talented singer and John had a knack for the guitar. Influenced by the likes of Tom Petty and Bob Seger, they developed a thick and bold style that would eventually garner them attention in Nashville… and now in Athens as part of the Country Night Lights lineup.

The simple living of their small town is reflected on tracks like “Dirt Rich,” while the actual town is featured in the music video of their hit song “Rum.” Brothers Osborne recently released their latest single, “21 Summer” off debut album “Pawn Shop”.

Frankie Ballard

Country music’s baby faced rock ‘n roller, Frankie Ballard, is one of the industry’s most promising up-and-comers. His raw, hoarse voice catches the ear’s attention and his unique style keeps all captive. Ballard rose to fame after winning Kenny Chesney’s next big star competition in 2008. However, it wasn’t until 2014 that he broke through into mainstream country with three consecutive No. 1 hits off of his album “Sunshine & Whiskey”.

His upcoming new album “El Rio” was named after the place he recorded it at, just south of El Paso. Ballard and his band retreated into the countryside for an intensive 10-day recording session that produced 14 songs, nine of which made it onto the album. Of these songs, two promising singles have already been released. “It All Started With A Beer” shows off Ballard’s ability to take it slow and steady while “Cigarette,” which was written by Chris Stapleton and Kip Moore, turns up the heat with loads of lust.

“El Rio” is due for release on June 10.

Country Night Lights returns to The Venue of Athens Sept. 23-24

February 9, 2016

Prime Social Group is excited to announce the headliners of the sophomore year of Country Night Lights. The inaugural year of the festival boasted jaw-dropping performances from Sam Hunt and Easton Corbin with support from Chase Bryant and a roster of young artists whose careers were further catapulted after their appearance at Country Night Lights 2015.

The bill for the Athens, Ohio music festival taking place Friday, September 23rd – Saturday, September 24th, 2016 will include Billboard chart-toppers, Jake Owen and Brett Eldredge!

When plans for a professional golfing career were derailed by an injury, country songwriter Jake Owen picked up a guitar and never looked back. His debut, Startin’ with Me, appeared in summer 2006 on RCA, spearheaded by the single “Yee Haw.” In the summer of 2011, Owen’s release Barefoot Blue Jean Night was his biggest hit to date, launching number one country singles in its title track and “Alone with You.” On February 2nd, 2016, Owen announced via Facebook that a second single from the album, still yet to be named, will be released to country radio in March 2016.

Singing country music with a soulful edge and more than a dash of pop polish, Brett Eldredge was born in Paris, Illinois on March 23, 1986. Eldredge’s first single, “Raymond,” a poignant song about an Alzheimer’s patient, was issued in September of 2010 and earned respectable radio play. 2012’s “Don’t Ya” was a genuine hit, selling over a million units and peaking at number five on the Country Singles chart. May 2015 brought Eldredge another country hit, “Lose My Mind,” which rose to number 12 on the Hot Country Songs chart, and “Just a Taste” followed in July 2015.

“After an amazing inaugural year headlined by Sam Hunt, we are thrilled to have Jake Owen and Brett Eldredge joining us this year as we expand the festival to two music packed days,” says PSG co-founder, Adam Lynn. “Beyond the exceptional artist roster, the festival grounds are located just a few minutes away from 30,000 college students at Ohio University. OU students who form the core of our audience, bring a special energy to the show that makes CNL an amazing festival to attend or to perform at.”

“Now that we have purchased the festival site we are heavily investing into the infrastructure of the grounds,” adds festival partner Dominic Petrozzi. “It’s amazing what we have been able to do to the site in only one year of owning it. Our fans will definitely appreciate the new amenities we have added in all aspects of the festival.”

Early Bird GA tickets SOLD OUT in record timing this year. 2-day GA tickets start at $75. VIP, single day, camping, and RV passes are now on sale. Information and tickets can be found at This event is all ages but patrons must be 21 years of age with valid ID to consume alcohol.
